Blue Bathtubs and Green Bicycles.

Today is an unordinary, ordinary day. Nothing spectacular or out of place is scheduled to happen, or has happened, yet I find myself very much inside my mind, and all of a sudden, the day is full.
The ramblings of a housewife: The Lord has been faithful to stretch me so much in this new season of life. To make me examine the way that I live and my attitude in every day things. Especially in a place where the lifesytle is so different. I was just talking with a woman from our church and its becomming even more apparent to me how different a persons worldview, mindset, value set can be even within the "same North American culture". Even within the same denomination of church body - I find myself surrounded by unfamiliarity. I was reminded yesterday that sometimes its not even that its a big deal, or a big difference, but that there are so many small unfamilar ways of living, it has been necessary over and over for me to recognize my discomfort and remember this is not my home. Not this place, but this world; so often I want to find comfort in things. Something I can give a dependable stamp. I submit, that this is not the way I am to live in this world. Lord grant wisdom and humility.
What is it, practically, every day, tangibly, to be the salt of the earth?

I was reminded recently of the Jenny's and came back to 'One Voice'

  1. I always love your post titles... I need to be more creative! I wish we could be house wives close to each other. Micah and I were ministry dreaming the other day and he said that he would love to keep you guys in mind to partner with... I heartily AGREED! Missing you from the depths of my heart and wishing you were here for blue baths and riding green bikes!

  2. It's crazy to read this, for I have been daydreaming of marriage as that "dependable stamp" as I sojourn in this pilgrim land. Indeed, God is our habitation and joy, and His everlasting presence our peace. Sigh. This is really a hard one for me.
