a terra cotta cup.

But who are you O man, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to Him who formed it 'Why did you make me like this?' Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?
Romans 9:20-21

I have been so encouraged to see the Lord providing lately. Several weeks ago I really had to recognize my need for community and real fellowship and the lack as of now. There can be lots of people here to know and get to know, but there arent people outside of Rocky and the telaphone, that I really know, or know me. Again and again I have had to come with open palms to places of trusting that if this is where we will be, God will provide. Even if that means that the provision is NOT a friend, or the community I desire, but the lack thereof which drives me only to need Jesus more...to rely on Him more.
Since this recognition, the Lord has provided in random but significant ways. One conversation. One visit here and a meaningful coffee there. And then, all of a sudden, Im finding people in the church who play guitar, who rock climb who are truly and refreshingly seeking the Lord and dont have 8 kids under the age of 6 already.
Last night, before the big frost, Rocky and I dug our potatos and praised the Lord that "neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything but only God who makes things grow" because our potatos were almost unbelievable. Maybe its normal for them to get that big, I dont know, but I think the Lord blessed our garden.

  1. Yay... for potatoes... that is awesome. I am waiting to dig up mine.... I can't wait. I am hoping for similar results.. It was the only thing in the garden that Ethan really wanted to plant.

Also thinking of you and the whole connecting thing... I sure understand that need and the loneliness of no connections.. be thinking of you!
