Youth...

Today there are 18 students in the 7th grade who worked around our house and the Barn for the morning and then get to spend the rest of the afternoon playing. Its like a school field trip day. And throughout the course of the day, I have been reminded again and again, that I am not very skilled in communicating or being able to connect with middle schoolers or high schoolers. Which does not exempt me from loving them in any way, but it is definitely clear to me that this is the most difficult age group for me. Not so much just to be around, but to lead. I think because at this age, the word respect has very little of a definition to it, and that is something that I weigh so much emphasis on, that its hard to lead without that.
